"Victorian Embroidery Hoop"

Hi friends!! Jeanne here again to share with you my design team project for the month of September 2016! I had this embroidery hoop in my stash, I orignally was waiting to come across some other ones in different sizes so I could do a larger hanging piece for my living room area. But decide to just go ahead and alter this one.

I was anxious to use the beautiful cotton trim for my background, so I just hot glued it along the edge of the hoop, then placed the other piece on top to secure it and cut off the remnants that were left.

I then added the beauiful ruffled lace in the soft mint color from Shabby Is Chic Boutique on Zibbet around the diameter of the loop leaving a 1/2 in. opening on the top for embellishment purpose later on.
On the front of the loop is where I decided to create my design, this way it can be hung on a wall on from the back end of the loop.
I began with the braided trim in white from SCB, I only adhered it to the right half of the loop because on the other end I ended up using the beautiful rose colored fabric roses from the store as well. After I did that I adhered some white organza/rhinestone flowers that I had in my stash. I then decided to use one of the rose cameo from SCB, I adhered it to a metal frame charm from my stash and cut a rhinestone from the pearl and rhinestone mesh trim from the shop as well, I adhered it to the top of the small metal frame. I then cut some cardboard to ahere it to the back of the image I wanted to use. I enjoy making my own frames out of thin laces,  trims, etc. After I adhered it, I cut some of the cotton heart trim from the shop , I colored it with my Victorian Velvet Distress ink. I let it air dry then ahered that to look like a frame for this beautiful picture. I decided to use on of the large butterfly appliques' from the shop as well and added some of the same rhinestone/pearl mesh trim to the center of the butterfly. Lastly I added some darker teal beads and light pink pearl beads to certain areas of the flowers. I love how it turned out! Plus it didn't take very long to make.
I hope that you like what I have created and use up your embroidered hoops, they make beautiful home decor!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my project. I look forward to later in the month to share with you the project that i'm working on right now! ~Hugs~ Jeanne Rodriguez

Shabby Tea Shop by Guest Designer Jessica Armstrong

Hey guys, Jessica here as a Guest Designer this week and I'm going to introduce you to this tiny little shabby tea shop I've made with lots of items from Shabby Is Chic Boutique Store.

The Tea Shop is set inside a wooden box, showing a small table in front of an old window.
The table is set with a tiny cup from Shabby Is Chic Boutique, a tea pot and a metal spoon. I've dry brushed the table in white to add a more shabby look to it.

The walls are covered in a mix of scrapbook paper and fabric ribbon. The printed fabric ribbon works really well as wallpaper - I just used a Uhu stick to afix it to the wall.

The pride of this piece I find, is the lace used on the table and the window. It works because it's folded in on itself and then glued into place.

Try your hand at making a miniature scene using SCB items, it's so much fun I might have to make yet another!

Thanks for stopping by today! Please check out all the items I have used and a whole lot more

Shabby Vintage Box by GDT Maggie White

Good morning, Maggie here today to share my first guest design team project for Shabby Is Chic Boutique with you.
I am excited to share it with you, so let's get started!

I papered and painted my box in a lovely vintage theme and then I glued the stretched lace from SCB to the bottom and both sides of the box. Creating these boxes are great for using for craft room storage!

I then added some of the beautiful squared pearl trim, also from SCB over top of the lace to add dimension.  Next, I added the tiny pink daisy trim on the lower lip of the lid as well as an applique from my stash and a gorgeous bling piece from SCB to finish it off.

For the top of the box, I added more of the tiny daisy trim around the edges of the entire top.  I cut individual rhinestones from the cup chain and added them in the middle of each of the flowers.

On the top left corner I added flowers from my stash, the butterfly applique and pearl piece from SCB.  On the butterfly I added another tiny flower and two small pieces of the rhinestone cup chain.

The pearl piece, key and cameo are also pieces from SCB.

Finally, for the back and sides of the box I glued some of the beautiful stretched lace to the top and bottom of the box and then added more of the square pearl trim over the lace.
This was a very fun project to do, and I hope you will give it a try!

Shabby Altered Bottle with Kim C.

Hello Crafters!  Kim C. here today, with my first DT Project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook!
I went out of my comfort zone and created an altered wine bottle.

This picture below are the items I used from the shop.

Now let me explain what I have done....
First, I decoupaged the beautiful rose napkin to the wine bottle.  Now this is my first time doing this and I think I did a great job!  I then wrapped some cording from my stash around the top of the bottle and then added the pearl trim and tiny flower lace.

I then took the beautiful flower trim with dangles and cut it apart.  I staggered the flower pieces around the top of the bottle.  I then added the flat back pearls and the flower with gold.  I love how the dangles just drape over the bottle!

To finish the bottle off I added more of the pearl trim to the bottom.  I also added the cameo with the leaf appliques as a finishing touch.

I hope you like what I have created.  Please check out my video on my Youtube channel.  Also check out the other design team members on Shabby is Chic Boutique blog.  Below is a list of what I used on my project.

List of Items:
Rose Napkin
Gold Rhinestone and Pearl Flatback
16mm Flatback Pearl Button
2" White Leaf Applique
White Flatback Pearl Trim
White Flower Lace Trim
Flower Dangle Trim
18mm Vintage Resin Lady Cameo in Tan

Thank you for stopping by!

Kim :)
