Shabby Topiary Tree by Guest DT Kim N.

Hello crafty friends! I am so happy to share with you my 2nd project as Guest Designer for Shabby is Chic Boutique for June. This is my upcycled topiary tree, hope you enjoy it!

I started with an urn that I got at a second hand store. I applied a coat of gesso and then painted light pink, and then added a thin layer of white milk paint to. I hit the textured areas of the urn with rose gold Metallic Lustre. I then decorated the urn with some of the dangle laces, pearl trim, and a flower appliqué that I sprayed pink from Shabby is Chic Boutique.

For the topiary itself, I built it out of a Styrofoam ball that I covered with pink lace. I then glued the gorgeous foam roses from SCB all over the ball randomly. I added some of the pearl stamens from the store and some leaves from my stash.

I gessoed a wooden dowel and then covered it with pink seam binding from SCB to hold the topiary ball. At the top, I added a piece of bling from my stash, organza ribbon, seam binding and rhinestone cup chain from SCB to hang down.

I had a great time making this and still have another matching urn that I am excited to upcycle.
 Thank you for looking!

Shabby Altered Paint Brush by DT Member Kim

Good morning friends! Kim here today to share with you my shabby altered paint brush, made with lots of gorgeous goodies from Shabby is Chic Boutique Store on Facebook.

I started this brush off with a coat of gesso all over then got out some Prima Art Alchemy Paints. These paints have lots of shimmer to them so they are perfect for any shabby project.

I used lots of muted tones to go with my SCB laces, trims and bling.

Next, I used my script stamp, also from Prima, and some black StazOn Ink, and stamped all over the brush. Then it was time to start layering on my lovely laces and trims from SCB.

I used a wooden wing and some resin pieces, along with the gorgeous pink tulle trim from Shabby is Chic Boutique. I added an SCB button and tiny doily to the top of the brush to add interest.

Below here you can see I used lots of pink laces and trims the brush. Some flowers and SCB bling added some sparkle to the piece.

I used more of the Art Alchemy paints once I had layered on the laces, and embellishments to make them look like they had been splattered in paint. A final touch was some Prima Art Stones to add dimension to the brush.

I hope you will try some mixed media with your items from Shabby is Chic Boutique, its the best of both worlds!

Thanks for stopping by today, and please check out Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.
Have a great day!

Shabby Altered Dress Form by DT Member Suzie

Hello Suzie Crafter here today to share with you my shabby altered dress form.
I have altered a dress form using the following items from Shabby is Chic Boutique Store on Facebook.

I made the bodice of the Pink Embroidered lace by ruffling out the neckline. Adding the Folded Lace Trim in the Blush color around the waist of the dress form to give it a skirted look. I belted the rhinestone cup-chain and flat back pearl trim as a belted effect a trimming up the both sides with seam binding bows.

Lastly, to give in a little shabby old world style, I added a separate piece for the outer skirt tale to fluff over the skirt using the embroidered floral lace trim!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! You can find more information on this project in my video below.

Stacked Wedding Cake Boxes by DT Member Jeanne

Hi crafty friends, Jeanne here today! I'm very happy to be a part of this great design team, and love all the products over at Shabby Is Chic Boutique on Facebook!
This is my 1st design team project for the month of June!

This faux wedding cake was fun to alter. I used some nesting boxes I had previously purchased, I painted the bottom & inside with pink acrylic paint. I then used some beautiful papers from Craft & You " Vintage Time". I distressed then papered the outside, lid and the inside of the boxes.

I then used trims from Shabby Is Chic Boutique as well as bling . I made a stand using a mirror and a candle holder, which I decorated as well.

Lastly, I lined the outside of the mirror with lace from my stash and used a beautiful bling piece on front and some Rhinestone & pearl trim on the candle holder.

I hope you are inspired by my project! A video will available on my YouTube channel with more details about this project, and also below is my June DT package reveal, where you can see all the gorgeous laces and trims.
