Heidi's April DT Package

As it is my first time posting or creating for KS4U, I mistakenly took only one photo of the lovely trim and flowers I received for my April DT package. I assure you this is a one time "boo boo".

I received 4 colors of porcelain flowers; turquoise, lilac, yellow, and white.

Ivory "bunting" style narrow venise trim.

Oatmeal cotton trim.

White 'S' patterned venise trim.

5.5" wide topstitch acrylic lace.

I am excited and so happy to be here at KS4U and a member of Julie's design team.

Looking forward to creating with the beautiful products offered in the KS4U store and on Zibbet.

Happy Crafting my Lovelies!

Shabby Heart and Pin Cushion by DT Member Heidi

Hello Heidi here today to share my very first DT Project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Zibbet.

Of course in February the majority of us turn to hearts, flowers and chocolate but my February includes beautiful laces, trim and pretty things from Amy Love at Shabby is Chic Boutique .

Below my very first design team project, created from a paper mache’ “puffy” heart I painted with gesso and layered a beautiful pink lace from SCB. Following that up with a finely stitched pink trim and multi strand  flat back pearl trim and other pearl bling.

Listed after this heart you’ll see a pincushion upcycled from an old tin I had, I layered it with rosette trim and box pleat trim from SCB I also found a gorgeous gimp trim and bridal applique and more pearl from the store.

I need to mention as well the donation of buttons and butterfly from two very special women to me, Bonnie, Michelle, thanks ladies, you are wonderful. xx

I hope you enjoy the projects from my very first foray into being a design team member and thank you so much Amy Love for having faith in me and believing I had something to contribute to your team.
Have a wonderful day!

Message in a Bottle and Romantic Box by DT Member Suzie Crafter

Good morning friends Suzie here today to share with you my next project for Shabby is Chic Boutique.

I've altered a blue box that I had from perfume lining it with muslin on the outside, and lining the inside of the top with SBC's blue lace trim, and ruffling the outside giving the lace a flimsy yet romantic kind of look using SBC's Embroidered Flower Lace Tulle in cream, lining the top outside of the box with White Flat Back Pearl Trim from the shop.

The Glass Tubes were from Michaels. I've never altered those before so I thought these would make great "messages in a bottle presents"! I've altered the glass tubes with some vintage lace from my stash, adding a dangling cream colored tassel to two of them then made one tassel from the White Fringe Trim, Luxury Lace Pearl Beaded Trim and the Rhinestone Cup-Chain Trim all from SBC's store giving the messages in a bottle just a romantic feel to them!

I've also added some pearl strand, handmade seam binding bows in cameo beige that were crinkled, a wired ribbon in gold, a few handmade pretty pearl and crystal stick pins and a few mulberry paper flowers to give it a romantic flair! Lastly, I crinkled some paper then etched it with Vintage Photo ink by Ranger, and wrote a love note in there for my husband. These are fun and great little projects to make using products from Shabby is Chic Boutique.

I hope that you've enjoyed seeing this project as much as I've enjoyed making them. If you'd like to see them in full detail, there will be a YouTube video at my 'suziecrafter10' channel.

Altered Chipboard Tray by DT Member Maggie

Good morning all, Maggie here with my next DT project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.
This time I have altered a chipboard tray.

I covered all 4 sides of the inside and outside of the box with Graphic45 Gilded Lily papers.  I then added the lace trim to the outside top of the box.  On top of that I added the Chinese braid from SCB. Then, around the bottom of the outside I added the pearl trim.

To the front I glued the tiara to the middle and the flower flatback button to the middle of the back  of the box. I then glued the vintage sewing bobbins to the bottom of the box for feet.  These were from my stash.

Lastly, I glued the pearl lace trim around the top perimeter of the inside of the tray and that finished it off.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today, please check out all the amazing items in the Shabby is Chic Boutique Store!
Thanks and have a great day!

Shabby Altered Pillar Candle by DT Member Liza

Good morning Shabby is Chic Boutique fans! Liza here today to share with you my next project which is an altered pillar candle.  I had fun making this and have posted some photos for you to see.

Here is a full view of the front of the candle.

I cut a canvas bag and wrapped around candle and distressed it as the base for my candle.

I then made a flower with the beautiful trim, used flower applique and bling as flower centers.
I also used some of the laces and trims as dangle for the flower.

This would make a lovely shabby addition to any craft room!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you like my project, and you can also find all the laces I used on this candle in the Shabby is Chic Boutique Store.
Have a wonderful week!

Shabby Photo Tray by DT Member Kim C.

Today I say goodbye to an awesome design team.
This is my last project for Shabby is Chic Boutique.
I just want to say that I have had an amazing time and loved working with some very amazing ladies.
I want to especially thank Amy Love for giving me this awesome opportunity to design for her amazing shop.  I hope I have done her proud!
Now lets get to my final project.
I have altered a wooden serving tray.
I have designed this to hold a 4x6 photo.

This will stand or can be hung on the wall.
First I painted it with white gesso, then added pattern paper.
The top right of the layered paper, which I also distressed the edges, I rolled each of the corners.
I then tucked in a paper doily to the top and bottom.  I then added some scrap pieces of lace to the top doily.  I added some paper flowers, and some applique leaves.  I also added a couple of the organza flowers with rhinestone center.  I finished it off with adding the pearl garland, a pink cameo, a flat back pearl and some flat back pearl roses.

The bottom left corner  I added 2 different dangle laces along with some square shaped flat back pearl trim.  I then added some paper flowers, another organza with rhinestone flower, pearl garland and this amazing pearl with rhinestone button.

To the top of the tray I added more of the dangle trim and these beautiful flat back roses.  You can see from the picture there was a little wind and it gave the lace some amazing movement.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects during my term on this amazing team.  I have had a great time working with these amazing products.
Thank you so much Amy!!!
