Shabby Chic Wall Hanging by DT Member Maggie

Good morning, Maggie here today to share with you my project for Shabby Is Chic Boutique.
I have created a wall hanging with lots of beautiful items from the store.

I started out with a 7in. round doily from my stash and then added the tulle trim that Shabby Is Chic Boutique carries around the outer perimeter.  I then added the scalloped stretch trim also from SCB over the tulle.

I adhered the image to the back of a crocheted frame.  Around the outer area of the frame I added the round pearl lace trim that SCB carries but removed the lace, as I was saving for a flower later.  The 4mm rhinestone trim went round the inner circle of the frame.  I adhered the frame to the middle of the doily.

I added the white Venice trim to the bottom of the wall hanging along with the piece of gold dangle trim and blue tassel trim from my stash.

Next, I adhered the piece of flower dangle trim with the crocheted flower on top and then added the  gorgeous bling piece as well as the pearl centers on either side of the flower.

On the back of the wall hanging I added a doily piece with fabric to cover it completely.  I made a pocket out of a square doily and the long blue fringe was attached under the flap of the pocket.

Lastly, I added the heart trim from SCB to the top of the wall hanging as the hanger.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today and don't forget to check out all the beautiful items in the
Shabby Is Chic Boutique Store!
Thanks for stopping by today.

Victorian Photo Album by DT Member Kim F.

Good morning friends! Today I would like to share with you my Victorian Photo Album I have created with some amazing items from Shabby Is Chic Boutique Store.

I bought this photo album a few years back, it is a real Victorian photo album and is about 100 years old. The cover was in red velvet, however it was very, very worn and was in bad need of a facelift!

I started off with some white satin from my stash and covered the entire album with that first, then it was time to get out my gorgeous laces and trims from SCB and get embellishing.  I started off with this first lace in the top left photo, it is the large Venise lace trim you see, and this covered the book beautifully. I used the rose and pearl trim for the spine of the book.

I added a vintage lady in fabric from my stash to the center and then used the white leaf trim and the pearl trim on either side of her. On the top and bottom I used the mesh embroidered lace and the pearl and rhinestone trim to finish it off.

I embellished the corners with one of the .96" gold rhinestone and pearl flat backs on top of the bow applique.

I just love these 3 inch rolled satin roses Amy carries in her store, they were perfect for this project! I added a flatback pearl to the centers of each and even made my own flower as well. I added one of my favorite buttons from the SCB store, the vintage girl button.

For the sides I wanted to keep the antique closure that was on the album, so I used the scalloped pearl bridal trim so as not to cover it up, it worked out perfectly.

The finishing touches were the butterfly applique with more of the pearl and rhinestone trim attached to it. I added some vintage millenary flowers and foam roses from my stash as well.
I love how this came out and now I am going to add lots of my family photos to this album I will be a family keepsake now!

Shabby Vintage Bow Card by DT Member Karen

Good morning friends, Karen here today to share with you my shabby vintage style bow card.
I am very excited to share my DT Project for Shabby Is Chic Boutique with you, so let's get started!

I purchased the bow card template for this piece online and it was the perfect base to add some of the SCB gorgeous goodies! It is a beautifully put together template, with many layers for you just to print and pencil on to your cardstock and paper and construct.

Once my card base was constructed I then got out my box of goodies from
Shabby is Chic Boutique and started to place them where I felt they should go on my card.
I used many products and am very pleased with how beautiful the embellishments made my card go from very pretty to absolutely stunning.

I used the 30.5cm Venise Lace (*1/2 yard*) and chopped out the heart appliques from it and positioned them on either side of my card and then also at the bottom of the card. I then added the 2 leaf dangles from the White Tassel Lace Trim to imitate leaves and on top of them. I added a 40mm wide, two toned pink rose, these were added to both sides on top of the heart appliques.

I then wanted to add something to the top, and had a small section of bridal applique left so tidied it up and attached it to the upper part of my card. I used 1.1cm white flower lace trim to add dimension to the appliques flowers and to give it the sense of luxury, I added rhinestones to give it some sparkle. I had some in my stash but it is available in the shop to purchase.

I then decided I wanted to add some butterflies, I adore butterflies and try to add them to almost all my projects! To add something extra to them I actually took one of my napkins from my DT pack and decoupaged it on to some card stock and then die cut out some butterflies. When doing this I also cut a flourish using the same piece of napkin and card and loved the look it gave. I attached the butterflies in various places and added the flourish which worked in beautifully. For all the butterflies I added small strings of rhinestones to give them all some sparkle.

For the centre I wanted something to add a softness to it so opted to use some cream webbing material as I didn’t want muslin due to the threads falling off and shedding the webbing is a little more resilient and it worked out perfectly, I finished it off with a vintage image and used one of the resin frames from my stash surrounded the image with rhinestones and added one to the top of the frame.

Lastly, to finish the card off I added a tail to the card and used some wedding in thin stripes and Ric Rak braid in cream. For the rhinestone trim, I glued them all just under the second layer of the card, but to make sure it looked finished if anyone looked I added a Rhinestone and pearl button.

This project did take me a lot time as I wanted it to be close to perfect. My mum turns 60 next month and this card will be going to her!  I hope it inspires you to look at all your trims differently and use them in different ways.

Enjoy, Lots of love and hugs always Karen xx

Stacked Box Trio by Kim C.

Welcome to this weeks project!
Shabby is Chic Boutique  Design Team Project.
This week I have altered a set of stacking boxes.  I love the vintage look these boxes have.  The beautiful paper is Songbird by Prima that is just gorgeous!

Each box has vintage lace, pearl trim and bows to tie them all together.
I also used some cameos, in two different colors and heart shaped wood buttons along with some resin roses, flat back pearls, pearl and gold embellishment..

The large box has this beautiful rose gold metal bow with rhinestones adding a cameo to the center.  I used another cameo in the flower cluster on top of the box.  I layered the vintage lace alternating each layer to give it the look of a larger lace.  I also used a crocheted doily that I cut in half and used on the large and medium size boxes.

The medium size box has an applique bow with cameo, again layering the vintage lace to match the larger box.  I added a pearl and gold embellishment to the front of the box.  I also used some of my dangle lace to drape over the edge.

The smallest box also has an applique bow with a large flat back pearl as its center.  Again layering the vintage lace to tie all three boxes together.  I also used some applique leaves under the flower clusters.
Also tying the boxes together is each box has pattern paper with birds on the lids.

I hope you like what I have created this week and please check out all the other lovely ladies on the team to see what they have created.  Below is a list of items used from Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.

Shabby Vintage Box by GDT Maggie White

Good morning, Maggie here today to share my first guest design team project for Shabby Is Chic Boutique with you.
I am excited to share it with you, so let's get started!

I papered and painted my box in a lovely vintage theme and then I glued the stretched lace from SCB to the bottom and both sides of the box. Creating these boxes are great for using for craft room storage!

I then added some of the beautiful squared pearl trim, also from SCB over top of the lace to add dimension.  Next, I added the tiny pink daisy trim on the lower lip of the lid as well as an applique from my stash and a gorgeous bling piece from SCB to finish it off.

For the top of the box, I added more of the tiny daisy trim around the edges of the entire top.  I cut individual rhinestones from the cup chain and added them in the middle of each of the flowers.

On the top left corner I added flowers from my stash, the butterfly applique and pearl piece from SCB.  On the butterfly I added another tiny flower and two small pieces of the rhinestone cup chain.

The pearl piece, key and cameo are also pieces from SCB.

Finally, for the back and sides of the box I glued some of the beautiful stretched lace to the top and bottom of the box and then added more of the square pearl trim over the lace.
This was a very fun project to do, and I hope you will give it a try!
