Shabby Trinket Box by DT Member Maggie White

Hello friends, Maggie here today with my shabby chic trinket box I created for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.

I papered the outside of a small round paper mache box with Graphic45 Gilded Lily paper.  I added the Chinese braid to the bottom of the box.  I then added the folded lace trim to the top.  I glued the Luxury lace pearl trim to the lip of the box.  On the inside I glued rose colored satin fabric.

Box Top:
I cut the side of the top off and added paper to the inside and more of the rose colored satin to the outside. I went around the edge with more of the braided trim.

Lastly, I glued the pearl cluster to the top of the lid and the rhinestone crown to the front of the box.

 Chunky Charm Dangle:

I made the beaded dangles with some pearls and glass beads and attached them to several small pieces of silver chain.  I attached those to the large ring at the top and added a lobster claw clasp to the ring.

Lastly, I added all the charms in between the beaded dangles throughout.

"Wedding Ensemble-Part II"

Hi crafty friends! Jeanne here this time sharing you my finished creations for my "Wedding Ensemble" , I had already made a beautiful easel card and a wall hanging, this time I altered one of the bamboo handheld fans from Shabby Is Chic Boutique . Along with may other laces, trims, embellishments that is sold at the shop.

I took the bamboo handheld fan, painted it, applied crackle paint , then another light coat of white paint, it made it look a little more worn out look.

I let it dry overnight, the next day I began by gluing on front and back , a beautiful, wide trim from my stash, I then glued along the bottom part of the fan, the beautiful ivory collar with dangles and Pearl centers from the shop. Above that trim, I glued some of the Ivory flat back Pearl trim . On the top part of the fan I adhered some vintage looking Pearl/rhinestone bling trim from my stash. I turned it over to the back and glued the same vintage trim I first used on the front, then just added some beautiful Ivory braided trim for a clean, neat look. Lastly I added the beautiful fabric flowers and one of the heart bling pieces  from Shabby Is Chic Boutique.

I then began altering the journal by painting the edges with white along the edges, painted 1/2 in. Border around the journal. Let that dry then measured and cut the pattern paper. I I used the same paper, The Archivist from Prima , that I had used on the easel card I had previously made to match this set. I used all the same trims on this journal as I did on the fan. On the back I only adhered some of the Prima paper. Then just added , the Ivory fabric flower and bling piece to the journal. I lastly added some of the canvas , script writing trim that is sold at the shop as well.

I hope that you will make a purchase of those beautiful bamboo fans and all of the beautiful products that are sold over at Shabby Is Chic Boutique
Thanks for taking time to check out my blog post and I hope to see what you all do with your altered bamboo fans!

Shabby Christmas Decor with GDT Kim N.

Hi there, Kim here with my second Guest DT project for Shabby is Chic Boutique. This time I altered a glass block and turned it into a shabby Christmas décor piece.

I started with a glass block and glued wide lace around the outside, followed by 2 rows of mini flat back pearl trim. I adhered a piece of cardstock to the back of the block that has the message “Merry and Bright” on it and glued some lace from SCB under it.

On the front, I added some of the gorgeous blue lace from Shabby is Chic Boutique and some silver tinsel trim from my stash. In the center on the top I attached a stunning piece of rhinestone bling, also from the store. I love the look it gives the piece, almost like icicles. I also decorated the corners a bit by adding some silver stars and mini white foam roses that have been sprinkled with glass glitter.
Layering a handmade flower made from the white chiffon trim and light blue seam binding from SCB created the embellishment on the top. I also added some light blue ribbon, white tassels, and light blue pearls from my stash.

I hope you enjoy my project! I had so much fun thinking about winter and the holidays in this sweltering heat. Please check out Shabby is Chic Boutique and thank you so much for looking!

Vintage Parisian Wall Hangings by DT Member Kim

Good morning friends, Kim here today to share with you my latest project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook. This time I have made a couple of wall hangings inspired by Paris!

I used 4 x 5 inch canvas boards for this project. I started off with some script paper from my stash as a back ground and then got out some of the Paris Napkins from SCB, which you can see below.

I fussy cut out the Eiffel Tower, and the post mark and some script from these two napkins and adhered them on top of the script paper. After that, I applied some sprays and also some crackle medium to make the whole piece look aged and very vintage. I kept layering on sprays to get inside the cracks until I was happy with the result.  I also used some gelatos to give highlights to the Eiffel Tower and some colour to the background.

After the base was dry, I decided to try my hand at making some roses out of texture paste. It was a lot easier than I thought, just taking a palette knife and making some swirls. I used more of the same sprays to get some colour on the roses, and as a final touch, added some micro beads for further texture.

I wanted to have a nice focal point at the top of the piece, so I used some of the IOD moulds from Prima and some air dry clay to make the top pieces. Once dry, I used some of the Art Alchemy paints to give them some colour and I then added a beautiful cameo from Shabby is Chic Boutique Store to the top.

Finally, I added some of the gorgeous aqua tulle trim from SCB to the bottom of the wall hangings and some jute twine to the top so I could hang them up on my wall.

I hope you have found some inspiration from my projects today, and will give something like this a try, it was so much fun to create!

Alice Inspired Wall Hanging & Heart Bow by DT Member Liza

Good morning, Liza here today with my Alice inspired wall hanging and mini heart bow, which I created for Shabby Is Chic Boutique on Facebook

I used lots of trim and laces from the store.  The pink tulle trim and dangle trim finished off the bottom of the wall hanging nicely.

I tied some of the SCB wide pink lace around the top of the hanger and added some charms and a tassel  to finish it off.

I also used one of the large gold metal bows in the top corner to add some bling.

I placed my image in some teacups and added a "drink me" sentiment to it as well.

Lastly, I made this cute little heart with burlap bow. I used the laces and flat back pearls from SCB, along with the burlap bow, placed on a wooden heart, which I backed with some designer paper.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today, please stop by the Shabby is Chic Boutique Store on Facebook to check out the items I have used and lots more that is in stock!
Have a great day, Liza!
