Bridal Heart Pillow by DT Member Suzie

Good morning all, Suzie here today to share my next DT project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook. This time I have created a lovely and shabby bridal pillow.  This heart is 11 inches wide and 8 inches tall making it a beautiful size for a bride or shower gift!

To start off my project, I  created a very large heart from scratch. The base is made from my personal template with cotton fabric, hand sewn and stuffed. I've used a large piece of white fabric lace from the SCB store over top front and back for a finished look.

Using some vintage laces around the heart, I've hand ruffed the entire trim adding the pearl and rhinestone trim as the accent. I've also used some of the narrow trim lace along with seam binding to create the double bow at the bottom center.

I made two taffeta fabric roses in off white, and used one flat rosette of the same fabric. Then I added three large mulberry paper roses and some of my loose pears from my stash.

Lastly, I added the gorgeous heart flat back hearts with the rhinestone accent from the SCB store as well. The heart has streamers of ribbon and pearl at the base for a finishing touch!   This is the my personal signature style of how I do my heart pillows and sachets!

Shabby Jewelry Ensemble by DT Member Maggie

Good morning friends, Maggie here today to share my next design team project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook. This time I have created a necklace and earrings set.

To create the necklace, I started off with a flowery applique piece from my stash and then glued a 2mm rhinestone to the middle of each flower, at the top of the applique.  I then adhered a rhinestone and pearl flat back to the middle of each flower on the sides of the applique.  I added a butterfly dangle piece from the trim to which I adhered a pearl and rhinestone flat back to the middle of the butterfly along with three rhinestones to the tail.  Lastly, I added a chain to the necklace from my stash.

For the earrings, I started with 2 butterfly dangle pieces.  I glued a rhinestone and pearl flat back to the middle of each butterfly piece.  I also added three rhinestones to each tail of the butterflies.  Lastly, I added the earring wires from my stash.

I hope you will give this project a try!

Shabby Diorama by GDT Jessica

Good morning all, its guest designer Jessica here today with another project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.
A tiny front hall diorama full of Shabby goodness. A miniature table from the dollar store I've re-painted in a light blue is the central element of this box.

I've used the lovely rose embellishments in place of typical drawer pulls and I have to say I love these so much more!

Framed on the wall is the vintage cameo, surrounded by an antique frame. Atop the table sits a key and a lovely bouquet of white flowers, sure to refresh any shabby room.

Wallpapered with scrapbook paper, I've chosen blue to tie the piece together.
I really love using the braided trim around the edges of diorama boxes because not only does it add an extra element to the piece, it also adds a whole new texture, bringing in the shabby theme of the box.

I've used the white trim, but black would also work well if you want to try your hand at a little box of your own - a tiny front hall to hang in your front hall.

Thanks for checking in with me today and please check out Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.
I hope you have a Shabby Chic day!

Shabby Chic Pennant By DT Member Kim C.

Welcome to this weeks project!
Kim C. here and this week I have created a beautiful shabby chic banner piece!

I used light weight chipboard for the base.  I covered the chipboard with some pattern paper, which you are not able to see.  The paper got covered up with some beautiful laces.  I then added some flatback pearl trim to the top along with some seam binding bows.

I used some heart trim on the edges along with some laces from my stash.  I created these super cute butterflies with pattern paper, distress ink, and stickles.  Its hard to see by they do have antenna's on them!!

I created this beautiful shabby flower with a rosette, cheesecloth, dangle trim, and some leaf appliques.  Adding a gorgeous bling piece to the center.

The bottom has a satin bow, a large flat back pearl, a flat back pearl hearts, and some dangle trim.
Below is a list of items used from the shop.

Shabby Watercolour Card by DT Member Karen

Good morning, Karen here to share with you my shabby watercolour card, using lots of Shabby is Chic Boutique items.
I have been really getting back into my card making again, but being able to
mix my love for fabrics and napkins into the cards has just opened up a whole new level of enjoyment for me! So, here is how I made this card.....

I took a 6”x6” White 300GSM (@ 140lb) Card Base
I then chopped down a piece of cardstock to 5.5” x 5.5”
And then decoupage the water colour effect napkin on to this and left it to dry completely overnight. The next morning, I cut a smaller layer at 4”x4” and used a corner punch and some distress ink just to give it a little bit of a colour.

Then I used double sided adhesive tape taped down the napkin covered layer on to my card base, and then added the distress inked layer on top of that also using double sided adhesive tape.I then pulled out all my lovely crafty bits from Shabby is Chic Boutique store and started to plan my card, I took a piece of lace applique from a large panel and layered it down using white glue.

Using a lovely gathered lace from my stash I made a lace flower rosette
And to go on top of that I picked off the chiffon flowers from the stunning pearl and chiffon flower collar and started to later them up to make a gorgeous flower.
After layering up the chiffon I needed to choose a flower centre and it would have been easy to simply add a nice piece of bling, but I choose to stay neutral. I took the lovely cameo and paint it with white acrylic which fitted the idea in my vision perfectly.
And I then using hot glue adhered it to my card.

But it still needed more elegance to it so out came the gorgeous tassel and I tucked it under the flower to flow out and as a nice little extra I added a leaf applique from one of the other trims in my DT package.

And finally to just finish it off I added 3 of the small resin roses just sets the card of beautifully
I hope you like the card and that it inspires you to think of ways to use your craft products in new fun ways x

The Butterfly Queen by DT Member Kim F.

Good morning friends! I am super excited to share with you my project today. I have created a "Butterfly Queen" dress form  from Shabby is Chic Boutique

I had so much fun with this project, I am thrilled with how it turned out. In the photo below on the left you can see how the dressform started out, it was plain white, and I used one of the gorgeous napkins that Amy sells in her Shabby Is Chic Boutique store and mod podge it on top of it.

After the mod podge had dried, I got out a couple of different types of tulle from my stash, a plain white one and one with some pretty white daisies on it. I used my needle and thread and did a running stitch to gather the layers of tulle around the dressform. I also added the flatback hearts from SCB to random flower centers as well.

For the wings I used a wooden butterfly I had given to me in a RAK from a friend in Australia. I have been looking for the perfect piece to use this on, and this was it! I used black paint on the first layer then some Frantage shabby black embossing powder on top. Finally, I gave it a coat of Gilder's Paste in silver, which is like a silver wax. It gave the wings a lovely shimmery coat. The final touch is a cameo from my stash which I framed in the tiny rhinestone trim from SCB.

For the crown, I used a metal corner from my stash and using glossy accents added some of the rhinestone trim and some rhinestones from the pearl and rhinestone trim which I cut to get bigger stones.

I placed the crown at the top of the dressform, I love how it came out! I also added one of the keys from the key set Amy sells, and added rhinestones to them as well.

This project was really a labor of love. I just adore dressforms and this was so much fun to make!

Shabby Altered Bags by DT Maggie White

Good morning friends, Maggie here today to share with you my next design team project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.

I created 3 shabby bags from these gorgeous canvas bags that SCB sells in their shop.
First, I glued two layers of the leaf trim to the bottom of the bag.  I then glued the wide pearl trim (SCB) on the top.  I attached the white Venise lace trim (SCB) to the top and bottom of the bag.  I added the large cream rolled rose (SCB) to the middle of the bag.  I then glued the small acrylic roses (SCB) to the lace trim.  I cut 2 individual hearts from the white heart trim (SCB) and attached to the top and bottom of the rolled rose.  NOTE:  The trims on this altered bag were also GREEN TEA DYED.

For the second bag, I adhered the small heart trim (SCB) to the sides and bottom of the gift bag.  I then glued the heart applique (SCB) to the middle.  On top of that I adhered the embroidered tulle flower (embroidered trim is SCB) that I made and glued the pearl & rhinestone flat back (SCB) to the middle of the flower.  I used the 2mm rhinestone cup chain (SCB) around the perimeter of the heart applique.  Lastly, I added the cameo.  NOTE:  The trims and embroidered tulle flower were GREEN TEA DYED.

Finally for the third bag, I adhered one layer of the white leaf trim (SCB) to the bottom of the bag.  I cut the bottom of the bridal medallion off of the applique and split them into 2 separate pieces which I applied to the top two corners of the bag.  I then glued the medallion to the center of the bag.  I added the large bling piece to the center of the medallion.  Lastly, I added the acrylic rose (SCB) to the top of the applique and the acrylic pearl center (SCB) to the bottom of the applique.

Shabby Tea Shop by Guest Designer Jessica Armstrong

Hey guys, Jessica here as a Guest Designer this week and I'm going to introduce you to this tiny little shabby tea shop I've made with lots of items from Shabby Is Chic Boutique Store.

The Tea Shop is set inside a wooden box, showing a small table in front of an old window.
The table is set with a tiny cup from Shabby Is Chic Boutique, a tea pot and a metal spoon. I've dry brushed the table in white to add a more shabby look to it.

The walls are covered in a mix of scrapbook paper and fabric ribbon. The printed fabric ribbon works really well as wallpaper - I just used a Uhu stick to afix it to the wall.

The pride of this piece I find, is the lace used on the table and the window. It works because it's folded in on itself and then glued into place.

Try your hand at making a miniature scene using SCB items, it's so much fun I might have to make yet another!

Thanks for stopping by today! Please check out all the items I have used and a whole lot more
