Message in a Bottle and Romantic Box by DT Member Suzie Crafter

Good morning friends Suzie here today to share with you my next project for Shabby is Chic Boutique.

I've altered a blue box that I had from perfume lining it with muslin on the outside, and lining the inside of the top with SBC's blue lace trim, and ruffling the outside giving the lace a flimsy yet romantic kind of look using SBC's Embroidered Flower Lace Tulle in cream, lining the top outside of the box with White Flat Back Pearl Trim from the shop.

The Glass Tubes were from Michaels. I've never altered those before so I thought these would make great "messages in a bottle presents"! I've altered the glass tubes with some vintage lace from my stash, adding a dangling cream colored tassel to two of them then made one tassel from the White Fringe Trim, Luxury Lace Pearl Beaded Trim and the Rhinestone Cup-Chain Trim all from SBC's store giving the messages in a bottle just a romantic feel to them!

I've also added some pearl strand, handmade seam binding bows in cameo beige that were crinkled, a wired ribbon in gold, a few handmade pretty pearl and crystal stick pins and a few mulberry paper flowers to give it a romantic flair! Lastly, I crinkled some paper then etched it with Vintage Photo ink by Ranger, and wrote a love note in there for my husband. These are fun and great little projects to make using products from Shabby is Chic Boutique.

I hope that you've enjoyed seeing this project as much as I've enjoyed making them. If you'd like to see them in full detail, there will be a YouTube video at my 'suziecrafter10' channel.

Altered Gift Bags by DT Member Maggie

Hello friends, Maggie here today to share with you a quick and easy project for altering some gift bags. I made this project with lots of great items from Shabby is Chic Boutique store on Facebook.

I created these gift bags by adhering everything down using strong double sided .25in. strong sticky tape. The Eiffel Tower bag has the rhinestone trim from SCB, on the tower in several places.  I added the flower with pearl & bling pieces to the top of the bridal applique. I have kept the same colour tones in all three of the bags.

On the Lady with Mirror bag, I pieced the pink shell trim in between the double flower applique. I added a metal butterfly for interest, and some of the SCB bling to the flower centers.

The ballerina bag has the pink bridal applique embellished with the flowers, button and bling.  The flower bow applique was added to the top to finish the bag.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. You can find more information on this project and all of my Shabby is Chic Boutique projects over on my YouTube Channel.
Have a great day!

Altered Art Journal Cover by Jeanne Rodriguez

Hi crafty friends! Jeanne here sharing my latest project for Shabby Is Chic Boutique! I have been wanting to alter a couple of Art Journals that I have in my stash before I began actually journaling in them. I'm happy to share what I have done with my first one which is a 5X7 chipboard cover & watercolor paper on the inside. (Here is what it looks like in a bigger size, forgot to take a before picture of the one I altered)

I began by choosing what papers I wanted to use along with the products that would go perfect with this project. I decided on using some papers from The Authentique "Classique: Beauty" collection. I lined the page with a darker color from the collection first, I then added the Ivory flat back pearl trim from SCB around most of the page, I then added one of the beautiful white wide laces and one of the black Venice lace trims from the shop as well. After I did that I cut to size one of the beautiful flowered papers from that same paper collection, I sprayed some water and gathered it up to the side. ( I was inspired by Marilyn Riveras work). Once that dried I moved to the inside where I knew I couldn't make it too bulky so I only added my papers, I made a small pocket, to insert some ephemera or journal tags, etc..I had forgot to add my ribbon closure so I just added it to the inner page then added a small crochet doily from Michaels dollar section. Then just added a small butterfly chipboard from I believe came from the Prima "Princess" collection, not positive. I lined the back as well just the same as the front.

I then focused on the cover where I added a little piece of cheese cloth to sit behind this small Prima frame, I added a pic that I cut out from the Prima "Princess " collection. I then added my flowers, I had the light and darker purple ones in my stash but realized I had no black spray or bigger black flowers, no I used some Ivory paper flowers that I have quite a bit of and just painted them with my Lindy's Magicals in "Midnight Rendezvous color" which I love how they turned out. Dried with the heat gun and started gluing them down with fabri tac, starting with some Pearl sprays then the flowers. I added stickles one all the flowers but the black. As well as adding stickles here and there on the picture itself. I added another chipboard from the princess collection as my title on the page "Beautiful Inside & Out" Lastly I added some black teardrop pearls on the top and bottom so it wouldn't look blank there.
I really hope that you all can break out colors that you might not think you would work with, you would be surprised how much I ended up loving this even if purple isn't my kinda color! I am anxious to alter my other journal. I will definitely let you know whenever I do that! Now, time to start art journaling!! Hope you all are having a wonderful summer! See you in August!! Xoxo, Jeanne ✂️

Welcome Home Baby Wall Hanging by GDT Diane S.

Hello Friends, Diane here to share my next Guest Design Team project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.

Today I made a lovely "Welcome Home Baby" wall hanging.
I saved a baby hanger when my little boy was small and I painted it white and then embellished it with baby paper and lots of Shabby is Chic Lace, Ribbon and Pearls.

Most of the lace on the Pennant and the lace around the hanger is from the facebook store Shabby is Chic Boutique. I love the heart applique in the center of the design. It comes with the sweet little bow and the beautiful pearl embellishment. I glued a piece of pink cardstock behind it before I fussy cut it out and place it with pop dots onto my pennant. So very pretty.

Here is a photo of my Shabby Tassel that I made with a verity of ribbon, lace and even cheesecloth.    The words Welcome Baby are glitter chipboard pieces from Me & My Big Ideas.

Shabby Mixed Media Art by DT Member Kim

Good morning Shabby is Chic Boutique fans. Today I am doing something fun and different with my lovely items from Shabby is Chic Boutique Store.

As you can see I have created these 4 x 5 inch canvases, using lots of mixed media and items from the SCB store. I started off with using this  gorgeous rose napkin from the store. I cut out some of the roses, and also used some of my Prima paper, which I tore into pieces as well, and then adhered it down to the canvas with matte medium.

Once the glue was dry, I too some of my embossing paste and gave a texture coat with it in various spots on the canvas to create dimension.

Now it was time to play with my embellishments. I used the Love Key from SCB, and also the small spoon with crown. I am also using lots of Prima Clay items that I created using the IOD moulds. I gave the all a coat of gesso and then used some sprays and the Prima Metallic Paint in Rose Gold on top. The final touch was spritzing them with water and adding some Carmel alcohol inks to make them look more dimensional.

Now it is time to start layering on the pieces to the canvas. I also added the heart doily and the white mini doily from SCB.

My finishing touch was adding some micro beads to the canvas to add more texture, and I also added some gorgeous Prima flowers as well.

The gorgeous little girl cabochons in the middle of the canvas are also from SCB!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you will give a project like this a try, it was so fun to do!

Shabby Chic Heart Sachets & Handmade Flowers by DT Member Suzie Crafter

Hello friends, Suzie Crafter here today with my latest project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.

Today I have created two heart sachets from the Fat Quarter Fabric "D" from the SCB store. I used pinking shears to cut the edges of the cotton hoping for a frayed look. The sachets are stuffed with fiber fill and hand sewn. I've also added the pink bridal applique with the silver threading on the base of the heart along with a few pearls and a flat back pearl flower from the shop.

I made two flowers, by hand, adding the white scallop dangle lace behind the flower to make it appear larger. The flower-center was made from an altered button covered with the "D" fat quarter cotton fabric.

Lastly, I added the white fringe trim to the base of the flower giving it some interest and movement. Both flip sides of the sachets have a seam binding bow on them to coordinate with the flowers on the front.

Altered Chipboard Tray by DT Member Maggie

Good morning all, Maggie here with my next DT project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.
This time I have altered a chipboard tray.

I covered all 4 sides of the inside and outside of the box with Graphic45 Gilded Lily papers.  I then added the lace trim to the outside top of the box.  On top of that I added the Chinese braid from SCB. Then, around the bottom of the outside I added the pearl trim.

To the front I glued the tiara to the middle and the flower flatback button to the middle of the back  of the box. I then glued the vintage sewing bobbins to the bottom of the box for feet.  These were from my stash.

Lastly, I glued the pearl lace trim around the top perimeter of the inside of the tray and that finished it off.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today, please check out all the amazing items in the Shabby is Chic Boutique Store!
Thanks and have a great day!
