Shabby Photo Tray by DT Member Kim C.

Today I say goodbye to an awesome design team.
This is my last project for Shabby is Chic Boutique.
I just want to say that I have had an amazing time and loved working with some very amazing ladies.
I want to especially thank Amy Love for giving me this awesome opportunity to design for her amazing shop.  I hope I have done her proud!
Now lets get to my final project.
I have altered a wooden serving tray.
I have designed this to hold a 4x6 photo.

This will stand or can be hung on the wall.
First I painted it with white gesso, then added pattern paper.
The top right of the layered paper, which I also distressed the edges, I rolled each of the corners.
I then tucked in a paper doily to the top and bottom.  I then added some scrap pieces of lace to the top doily.  I added some paper flowers, and some applique leaves.  I also added a couple of the organza flowers with rhinestone center.  I finished it off with adding the pearl garland, a pink cameo, a flat back pearl and some flat back pearl roses.

The bottom left corner  I added 2 different dangle laces along with some square shaped flat back pearl trim.  I then added some paper flowers, another organza with rhinestone flower, pearl garland and this amazing pearl with rhinestone button.

To the top of the tray I added more of the dangle trim and these beautiful flat back roses.  You can see from the picture there was a little wind and it gave the lace some amazing movement.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects during my term on this amazing team.  I have had a great time working with these amazing products.
Thank you so much Amy!!!

Shabby Wall Hanging by DT Member Karen

Hi Everyone, Karen here with my final design team project
for Shabby is Chic Boutique. As my term is now up and Amy will be announcing the new team tomorrow here on the blog, so stay tuned for that!
Today, I have made a wall plaque in very subtle and muted tones
using lots of items that are available from the store.

I started of with an 8" wide Chipboard circle
I painted it both sides with a coat of gesso and then covered the front of it with
a postal script napkin and once dried added a whitewash of white acrylic paint to mute it slightly.
I then added the v shaped scalloped lace and finally to add that extra softness to the plaque
I added a soft scalloped lace behind it.
To tidy up the edge I added white 4mm pearl trim which worked a treat.

The decoration I pulled out a lot of elements from my design team kit and also a vintage image that I had printed off from Pinterest.
I placed everything on to get my layout and see how I liked it all on the plaque before gluing anything down.
I added the heart applique then added my image which I then went around with the v shaped trim but, I did cut it down the center to make it much neater and finally added 3mm white flatback pearls to it.

I absolutely loved the metal wings from my kit and knew I wanted to use one of them also so I started adding thin layers of white acrylic paint until I was happy with the coverage to embellish it further I added rhinestones and small spots of stickles glitter glue in Cotton Candy (colour).
I then decided to add the butterfly's to the corners of the image and used the rhinestone trim to emphasis the body and rhinestones for the antennae, lastly to finish off the from I added 2 floral appliques layered with 2 leafs from one of the dangle trims and to carry on with the colour from the metal wing I added a good layer of the stickles to add the pink colour and finished it off with one of the flower centers and some rhinestone tassels.

I am fairly particular with my projects and feel unless the back is finished off properly too the project isn't finished! So, to the reverse
I added a large doily and then went around the edge with another white gathered trim from my stash and added in a lace pocket, and used a loop braid to show where the pocket is at first glance. To carry on the theme from the front to the back I added the butterflies once again and finally, added the small seam binding loop on the top to hang the project.

I hope you enjoy this project and gain some inspiration from it and see how beautiful the products are on your projects.

I used the following Shabby is Chic Boutique products on my project

White Tassel Lace Trim
2mm Rhinestone Cupchain
V Shaped Leaf Trim
Butterfly Trim
 Flower Dangle Trim
Chalk White Seam Binding
 Embroidered Tulle Lace
Black and White Napkin
9.5cm White Lace Applique
17mm Rhinestone and Pearl Flatback
Antique Brass Filigree Wing 4"

Shabby Chic Altered Box by Kim F.

Good morning friends, Kim here today to share with you my next DT project for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook.
This time I have altered a wooden box for a gift for a friend.

I painted this box with a coat of gesso, then gave it an application of my crackle medium, then another coat of paint. I set it aside to dry and once it was I got out some of the gorgeous napkins from the SCB Store.

I placed the napkins on top of the crackle and when it dries it gives a lovely image, and it appears as though the box has been painted in the beautiful napkin images. I tore up a few interesting pieces from various napkins and added them to the top and side of the box as well.

I used mod podge to adhere to napkins on the box, and once it was dry it was time to get out some gorgeous SCB laces and trims!

I added some of the new mesh doilies and shabby rose buttons to one side of the box for interest. I also cut apart the butterfly lace trim and added one butterfly to each corner of the box, embellishing them with pieces of the pearl and rhinestone trim.

Lastly, I added one of the pearl and rhinestone bling pieces to the front of the box. I also used the mini silver spoon from SCB, which I filled with pink micro beads, and some flowers to finish off the top of the box.

For the inside of the box I painted the mirror white and decorated it with the mini pink floral trim. The bottom of the box I painted a shabby pink colour, and filled  it with some laces and goodies I am sending to my friend.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and will pop over to the Shabby is Chic Boutique Store today to stock up on some gorgeous items for your craft room!

"Extravaganza" Victorian Accessories for the Queen Marie Antoinette by Suzie Crafter

"Extravaganza"
Victorian Accessories for the Queen Marie Antoinette By Suzie Crafter
for Shabby is Chic Boutique on Facebook

I have created a beautiful Victorian Ensemble of Accessories for the Queen which are as follows:
The Queens Crown
All my items are handmade and lined with taffeta fabric inside, then covered with the beautiful wide Ivory Lace Bridal Trim. I accented  with the rhinestone cup-chain and beautiful rhinestone pear shape embellishment adorned with stunning flat back pearl and rhinestone metal embellishments.

The Queens Tiara for the Ball
I made this with Venice Lace placing the rhinestone cup-chain across the top of the tiara and adding flat back pearl & rhinestone trim. I trimmed with a center metal flower of rhinestones.

The Queen can never go anywhere without her Evening Bag!
I've created an evening bag made of felt, an overlay on top of ivory taffeta adding ivory appliques, rhinestone cup-chain, and a center metal pearl button for the closure, adding elegance and beauty.

However if she's walking through the garden of flowers, and it starts to drizzle or its to sunny...she's going to need her Parasol Umbrella that I also created!

Along with this ensemble, she has a full face Venetian Masquerade Ball Mask!
This mask is covered with the white bridal trim and is just gorgeous. I've decided to accent the face with pear shaped rhinestones to act as tears running down one side of her face using the cup-chain in all of the areas that are flourished and round the mask on top of the braided trim.  I also used the small organza white rosebuds from the shoppe with the rhinestone center and the flat back rhinestone pearl trim around the eyes.  The face is covered with handmade silk rosebuds and a few larger cabbage roses adding a large feather center with pearls and crystals from my own stash.

A "Mini Top-Hat and Fingerless Victorian Gloves" for the perfect evening out!
Again, both items were made completely from scratch and embellished with the shoppe's laces gems, buttons and rhinestone trim!

I hope that you've enjoyed this Extravaganza that I've designed as part of my Designer Project for Amy's Shabby is Chic Boutique! To see it "LIVE" please go to my video link on YouTube.
